February Brings Fundraisers, Celebrations For Local Rotary Clubs

Rotarians in District 5100 are combining fun, fundraising and service with a series of events in February.

The Rotary Club of West Linn is celebrating 20 years of service to its local community and the world through Rotary. The club will host a 20th anniversary celebration for members and supporters on Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Festive Hill Winery.

Battle Ground Rotary will roll the dice to have fun and raise money for its foundation. The club is sponsoring a Bunco Night on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Prairie Tavern in Brush Prairie, Washington. The public is welcome to join the fun, with the $25 admission fee supporting the club’s local and international service efforts.

While Rotarians celebrate service and fun, clubs also continue to devote time to service in the community. Greater Clark County Rotary is combining fun and service with its #Every28Days Period Party on Thursday, Feb. 26. The community is invited to share beverages with Rotarians at the Uptown Barrel Room and donate feminine hygiene products for distribution by Share Vancouver.

The Kruse Way Rotary Club in Lake Oswego will assist Portland Transitional Youth Organization’s annual Duffle Bag Project at their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Volunteers will fill bags with personal care items, blankets and a hat. The Rotary Club of Milwaukie continues its partnership with LoveOne Milwaukie in providing personal hygiene items and laundry services to the community on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Transitional Youth Duffle Bag Project

The Kruse Way Rotary Club in Lake Oswego supports Portland’s Transitional Youth Organization through its annual Duffle Bag Project. Each bag is filled with a combination of purchased and donated personal care items, a handmade quilt made by club members, and a knitted or crocheted hat. Join Kruse Way Rotary and the Transitional Youth Organization on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in assembling the bags that will help homeless youth in the community.

Wed., Feb. 11 | 5:30 p.m. | Battle Ground Rotary
Bunco Night

Join the fun(draiser)! The Battle Ground Rotary Club hosts a Bunco Night on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the Prairie Tavern in Brush Prairie. The social hour begins at 4:30 p.m., with games beginning at 5:30 p.m. The $25 admission fee will support the Battle Ground Rotary Foundation, which supports local and international service projects. Bunco players of all experience levels, including beginners, are welcome. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

Rotary Club of West Linn 20th Anniversary Party

Members of the Rotary Club of West Linn invites members and community supporters to celebrate 20 years of Service Above Self in West Linn. The celebration honors two decades of service, fellowship, and impact in the community, while looking ahead to the future that club members will build together. Tickets are $50 each (plus credit card fee) and include appetizers, dinner buffet and one glass of wine. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

LoveOne

The Rotary Club of Milwaukie and LoveOne Milwaukie join forces again for their Milwaukie South service event. LoveOne Milwaukie provides monthly laundry service, food, toiletries and social services to local residents. Club members will volunteer to hand out food, toiletries, and other supplies, and monitor and manage laundry services. This project is supported by a $2,500 District 5100 Matching Grant.

Thurs., Feb. 26 | 3:30 p.m. | Greater Clark County Rotary
#Every28Days Period Party

Women who are homeless and in need don’t always have access to feminine hygiene projects. The community is invited to join the Greater Clark County Rotary Club and Share Vancouver to donate feminine hygiene projects and enjoy a Bloody Mary at its #Every28Days collection party at the Uptown Barrel Room. Donated products, including $2,500 of products donated by Greater Clark County Rotary will be distributed by Share Vancouver to those in need. Have fun and socialize with other Rotarians to help fill a need in the community. This project is support by a $500 District 5100 Matching Grant.
